Overview
Institutional Investors now seek to finance companies that conduct responsible business. Reporting ESG factors has become relevant to all stakeholders, including analysts, investors, consumers, employees, civil society, and regulators. Due to the increasing attention over the past few years, companies that provide appropriate “Environment Social and Governance” (ESG) reporting and disclosures have a fair advantage over the others. Section 204 of the Companies Act 2017 calls for all directors to act in the best interest of the company, its employees, shareholders, and the community and protect the environment - hence the bottom line - "People, Planet and Prosperity".
The Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance has introduced this workshop to show companies why and how they can play a role as stewards of nature, manage stakeholder relationships and act ethically while improving their bottom lines and overall long-term sustainability. ESG 101 is a strongly recommended workshop, purposely designed to act as a guiding compass for those charged with governance, showing ways to embed ESG in decision-making processes, and giving a holistic view with facts on how ESG is good for business and risk management
