PM and senior cabinet members visit PSX for a gong ceremony

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister & Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar; Governor Sindh, Mr. Kamran Khan Tessori; Chief Minister Sindh, Mr. Murad Ali Shah; Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb; Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Mr. Attaullah Tarar; and State Minister for Finance & Revenue, Mr. Ali Pervaiz Malik visited Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) to celebrate PSX’s achievements, recognising its role as an important vehicle for the future growth of the economy. The Prime Minister and his entourage were welcomed at the Exchange by Chairperson PSX, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar; CEO PSX, Mr. Farrukh Sabzwari; board members and management of PSX. The event included a gong ceremony whereby the PM struck the gong ceremonially and speeches were delivered by the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Federal Finance Minister and the CEO PSX who welcomed the esteemed guests in his remarks. Guests at the event included prominent personnel from Pakistan’s financial industry and capital markets. The Prime Minister, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, congratulated the PSX team for their outstanding performance and praised their hard work for the positive change, stating that stock market’s success marked the beginning of Pakistan’s journey towards economic stability. He expressed optimism for the future of the country stating that our economy is once again standing tall and called for working together to move the country forward, from a path of stability to a path of growth. Earlier, the CEO PSX welcomed the guests and presented an overview of the stock market performance, presented facts and figured thereof and highlighted that PSX is making strides forward as evidenced by the recent signing of MoUs with three key financial exchanges of China to strengthen ties and enhance cooperation between PSX and these leading Chinese exchanges.
