PSX holds Investor Awareness Workshop for women – Day 1

Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) held an Investor Awareness Workshop for women to disseminate knowledge and guide women on how the Stock Exchange works and how to invest prudently on the stock market. The workshop was spread over two days having different topics or sessions for each of the two days. The first session of the first day of the workshop was on Introduction to Pakistan’s Economy & Investment Options. This session was conducted by the PSX Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer, Ms. Raeda Latif, whereby she gave a brief on the economy of the country and the avenues for investment/ different asset classes available and details thereof. The second session on the first day of the workshop was on the subject of how to save and invest money. This session was conducted by Mr. Fahad Asif, PSX Manager Digital Media & Financial Literacy, whereby he gave a presentation and briefed the participants on how to save and invest money, importance of financial planning, the functions of the Exchange and its role in capital formation.

The two-day workshop was a very fruitful and useful one with women participants from all walks of life engaging themselves productively in the sessions of the workshop. The sessions were interactive with a Q&A segment held at the end of each session. The participants were allowed open discussion for their better understanding and greater receptivity to the briefings being presented to them. This exercise was part of the Financial Literacy Initiative of Pakistan Stock Exchange to spread and disseminate financial literacy and awareness to the general public. It was primarily focused on women to increase financial literacy amongst women in line with PSX’s advocacy and promotion of gender equality, diversity and inclusivity.
