PSX Conducts Investment Awareness Sessions in Multan and Faislabad

In line with the Financial Literacy drive that Pakistan Stock Exchange has begun to develop awareness of public at large about the financial concepts and capital markets, recently, Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) held events on Islamic Investment in Multan and Faisalabad in collaboration with Central Depository Company (CDC) & Al-Meezan Investments. The events were participated by local investors and small businesses of the two cities. Around 700 participants attended both the events in total. These were very well attended events with presentations on Islamic Investment given by PSX, CDC and Al Meezan Investment Limited. The sessions included discussions about Capital Market Eco-system, importance of long term investment, shariah compliant investments, KMI30 & KMI all share index, and historical rate of return of KMI-30 & KSE-100 companies compared to that of other asset classes. Also discussed was how investors can safeguard their capital & what are the dos & don’ts of capital market.

In the interactive Q&A session, several concerns of investors were addressed. The participants emphasized that such sessions should be held on regular basis with representatives of Pakistan Stock Exchange along with Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) being present as well. Overall these were successful events which were greatly appreciated by the attendees.
